About this archive

the-band.co.uk is an independent, fan-run archive devoted to the music and history of The Band — the group behind Music from Big Pink, The Band and The Last Waltz.

It exists for one reason: to gather what's worth knowing about the music — the song meanings, the records, the history of the five players — in one clear, well-researched place, and to point you towards where you can hear and own it.

What this site is not

This is not an official site. It has no connection to The Band, the members' estates, their management or their record labels. All trademarks and song titles belong to their respective owners; they're used here for identification and commentary only. Album cover images, where shown, are provided through retail partners for the purpose of linking to the records.

How it's funded

To cover its (small) running costs, the site uses affiliate links — mainly to Amazon and eBay — so that if you buy a record or book after clicking through, the site earns a small commission at no extra cost to you.
